A woman lost her arm Thursday when it got caught in a machine at a wood preserving shop in Woods Cross, Utah, police told 2News.

Police were called at 1 p.m. to Utah Wood Preserving at 1959 S. 1100 West, said Assistant Chief Adam Osoro of Woods Cross Police.

Osoro said she was operating a wood stacking machine when her clothing got caught and pulled her into the machine, amputating her right arm.

Medics with South Davis Metro Fire were able to stabilize her and she was taken by medical helicopter to a local hospital in critical but stable condition, Osoro said.

Police have finalized their investigation of this incident and passed their information on to the Occupational Safety and Health Administration, which will complete its own investigation into the accident.
