When the Italian design house puts on a show, it does not hold back. At the famed Piazza San Marco in Venice, the iconic brand celebrated their ‘Alta Moda’ show, a star-studded event which paid homage to its 1600-year-old host city.
Over 400 clients and celebrities gathered in the city for an incredible fashion presentation set to the soaring classical chords of Vivaldi’s The Four Seasons.
And Britain’s own style queen Dame Helen Mirren was there to soak it all up. The 76-year-old actor looked beautifully chic in a dazzling couture gown fit for royalty as she stepped out for the ritzy show on Monday.
The Queen actor showed off her style prowess in the incredible ensemble, which featured an embellished gold corset with sheer sleeves and a full floor-length skirt printed with Renaissance paintings.
Sharing an image of her in the incredible outfit to Instagram, the star wrote: “I had a strange and wonderful dream last night.
“I dreamt I was in Piazza San Marco in Venice, dressed like a member of the Contarini Family, and before me appeared many beautiful goddesses dressed in heavenly clothes, as a rainbow and lightening appeared and thunder rolled, and as the vision disappeared a beautiful rain began to fall and then the following happened!”
Later the actress posted a snapshot of herself dancing in the rain with Fast & Furious co-star Vin Diesel, 54.
“I danced in the rain with VIN DIESEL!” an excited Mirren captioned the shot.
The following evening Dame Helen Mirren got her sparkle on in a glittering silver gown, nipped in at the waist with an in-built belt.
Fellow actor Jennifer Lopez looked equally regal in a two-piece set with accompanying cape and sparkling headpiece.
In her social media posts celebrating her trip to Venice, Lopez described the fashion show as “simply magical”.
Lady Kitty Spencer looked ethereal in an elegant sequinned dress as she arrived for the event over the weekend.
The niece of Princess Diana 30, wore an embellished cream knee-length dress adorned with sequinned florals, which was edged with intricate beading.
Other notable names in attendance included Kourtney Kardashian, Sean Combs, Kris Jenner and Christian Bale.
Oscar-winning actor Jennifer Hudson performed during the show and donned a flowing gold gown entirely worthy of the occasion.
Singer Ciara also upped the ante on the glitz in a metallic copper dress, with a split right up to her thigh.
As well as the adults, Dolce & Gabbana recruited a number of celebrity offspring as models, including D’Lila Star Combs (daughter of Sean Combs), Deva Cassel (Monica Bellucci’s daughter), Emmeline Bale (Christian Bale) and Leni Klum (Heidi Klum).
Heidi Klum posted a cute video to Instagram of her model daughter Leni rocking the catwalk.
Sweetly, as soon as Leni spotted her famous mum in the audience, she broke into a huge smile.
